The Drum: Vodafone Sets Sights on Young People and Families in Live Music Marketing

For five years the network has sponsored the Capital Summertime Ball and this year’s activation of the event was devised to put the spotlight in on the concert’s prime audience — teenagers...

“Produced by agency FreemanXP, The Summertime Ball activation displayed how Vodafone manages to merge these two seemingly disparate musical approaches. A branded, village-style installation drew in young children and their parents with music, a dance zone and a beauty parlour, while a red carpet guided guests over the road to the live Future Breakers stage...

Simon Boniface, Creative Director at FreemanXP EMEA said, "Our brief from Vodafone was essentially to activate their Future Breakers platform, which is their search for unsigned music talent...

"'They [Vodafone] are the headline sponsor of [Capital’s] Summertime Ball. Our job is to really bring that to life and to get people down here early to try and make a day of coming to [Capital’s] Summertime Ball, to have some fun before they go into the stadium before the show starts.'"
