Five of Barcelona’s Best Event Venues

Five of Barcelona’s Best Event Venues

Event spaces for brand experiences of all types and sizes

WRITTEN BY VICTORIA COOPER

Barcelona is a popular spot for tourists, with its culture, beaches, and mouth-watering food. As we event professionals all know, it’s also a mecca for brand experience.

The city plays host to Mobile World Congress (MWC) each year, which is taking place next February. Given that this prominent event is just six months away, I thought I’d share some of my top venue picks in the city, which are suitable for everything from intimate client dinners to cocktail parties and large-scale exhibitions.

If You’re Seeking a Unique Experience

Immerse your guests in the world of wine — specifically Cava at Codorníu, a Spanish winery located half-an-hour drive from Barcelona. Great for day trips or incentives, the grounds offer five rooms for hire, which are suitable for events of varying sizes. The Cellar Gran, which was once a fermentation room, is able to host up to 1,400 people for a gala dinner or party.

The outside terrace areas are great for summer drinks, with views of the landscaped gardens. And for something a bit different, you can take your guests on a train around the grounds and through the cellars.

For When Convenience is Key

Hotel Arts Barcelona is a popular accommodation option for MWC exhibitors and attendees, making its two Michelin star Enoteca Restaurant the perfect spot for networking or client dinners after a day at the show. The venue offers indoor and outdoor dining space with views of the sea, a Catalan and Mediterranean-style menu, and a cellar of more than 700 wines to choose from.

Events with a View

The sixth floor of Hotel Omm has two event spaces, both of which can accommodate between 70 and 100 people and offer views of the iconic Paseo de Gracia. You’ll find smaller meeting spaces for up to 20 people on the hotel’s first floor, and the 150-capacity Omm Club is great for post-show parties of up to 150 people.

The Home of MWC

The 240,000 square metre Fira Gran Via is home to MWC, and its annual event calendar is packed full of globally renowned exhibitions and events. The building houses eight halls and a 12,000 attendee convention centre, so it can host events spanning various different sectors and sizes.

Watch This Space…

The uber-cool Soho House brand is launching an outpost in Barcelona this October, where you can expect the same relaxed, pared-back vibe as its other venues across the globe.

While this is a private members club, so far it’s been revealed that the building’s bar/lounge area on the ground floor will be available for hire. If you’re seeking a new spot to take a client, the building’s Italian restaurant, Cecconi’s Barcelona, which will be open to members and non-members, could prove a great option.
